Chivas have been producing blended Scotch Whiskies since 1909. It is a brand that has a strong legacy and heritage built on core values of success and generosity.

But now they want to establish themselves as an aspirational status brand for a new generation of luxury consumers. They want to bring new generations to their whisky fold, with a prime focus for Chivas being the hustle generation.

This project was selected by Bert Agency as the winner of the 2024 Roulette Competition, in partnership with The Cameron Day Charitable Trust (CDCT).
CDCT’s Roulette offers emerging designers a chance to celebrating their skills in a unique way. Students receive a starting statement from a random leading UK design studio, but the catch is, the studio behind the statement is kept secret.
I was assigned to the statement "Intangible Tangible" and I connected my statement to the cultural heritage of Italy’s most iconic food: the pasta.

This project was shortlisted by Bert Agency as part of their partnership with The Cameron Day Charitable Trust (CDCT).
Roulette is a student competition set by the CDCT and and aims to celebrate emerging talent excelling in graphic design.
By partnering with design studios across the UK, each student is assigned to a starting statement set by a specific design studio. The catch? Students do not know which statement corresponds to the design studio.

I was assigned to the statement "Intangible Tangible" and I connected my statement to the cultural heritage of Italy’s most iconic food: the pasta.
I reflected on my journey as an Italian who moved to the United Kingdom to pursue the dream of becoming a designer. With this project I want to pay tribute and express my gratitude to those who shaped the person I am today: my grandparents and family.

Connecting the past(a) with the present

Italian cuisine, loved and envied all over the world, it’s not only culture, but also passion, memories, scents and tastes handed down from generation to generation. Every region of Italy has a distinctive dish, stranding for tradition of that specific place.

Mangi come Parli is a playful iteration of “Parla come Mangi”, an italian saying that can be translated as “Speak the way you eat”, used when somebody speaks using words that are too posh, formal, or complicated for the context.

I reflected on my journey as an Italian who moved to the United Kingdom to pursue the dream of becoming a designer. With this project I want to pay tribute and express my gratitude to those who shaped the person I am today: my grandparents and family.

Mangi come Parli celebrates the italian language, its food, costumes and cultures connecting the traditions through the ingredients.

It's all about loving the different type(s) of pasta

The bespoke variable typeface features handmade elements and take inspiration from the pastry cutter and pasta machines that leave that irreuglar mark, symbol of authenticity and craft. The irregularities and unique shapes are shown in each letter and resemble the different pasta shapes.
